Storage industry and end users give Computacenter thumbs up at annual awards

Computacenter's commitment to helping organisations optimise their storage environments has been recognised at Storage Magazine's annual Storage Awards.

Neill Burton, Director of Datacenter Solutions at Computacenter, received the Contribution to Industry Award in recognition of his extensive storage expertise and efforts to help customers get more from their storage assets.

"Organisations need to offset the constant demand for more storage by finding ways to deliver more capacity for less cost. We help customers achieve this by partnering with them to independently determine the best way of optimising their data infrastructure, often moving forward under shared risk principles and underwritten outcomes." commented Neill.

Computacenter is dominant in the Datacenter market and has grown its data storage business by 61 per cent. Neill was one of up to ten people nominated for the award, and won on votes cast by around 5,000 readers of Storage Magazine.

Now in their eighth year, the 'Storries' reward outstanding people, products and services. Stuart Leigh, Publisher of Storage Magazine, commented: "Under Neill's leadership, Computacenter is at the forefront of the storage industry thanks to its customer-focused services and ongoing investments in the latest technologies."

Computacenter was the first organisation in Europe to implement the Vblock 2 solution from EMC, VMware and Cisco, and NetApp's FlexPod. It was also the first in the UK to sell Oracle's Exadata technology.

Computacenter's commitment to helping customers better manage their data has been recognised through a host of other vendor awards during the last two years, including accolades from Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), Symantec and Oracle.
Neill commented: "Our highly skilled and industry accredited consultants help our customers identify the most efficient and cost-effective ways to store, manage, control and secure information using best fit technologies."

In a market currently dominated by integrated infrastructure options incorporating storage, networking and compute power, Computacenter's breadth of capabilities mean it is ideally placed to help customers select, implement and configure this new wave of datacenter technology stacks. It also offers proof of concept and testing facilities at its multi-vendor Solutions Centre.
